There is a jumper that must be moved based on the size of the game EPROM used. This jumper on our board, as well as the original D.E./Sega boards is clearly marked as jumpers J4 & J5. The default jumper setting for the 512k EPROM version (J5). The jumper would need to be moved to the J4 setting if the smaller 256k + 128k version game ROMs are used instead of a single 512k game ROM. Questions and Answers/Trouble shooting:

Q: Connector CN3 does not match the same number of pins as the harness connector! What do I do?

A: Data East was going to offer a line printer option so game stats could be printed; however, the feature was never implemented in software. Just plug the connector in (it will only plug in one way) and the game will play fine.

Q: My game will not start and the "Blanking" LED does not light up...

A: You have two 256k game EPROMs, and the MPU comes configured for one 512k EPROM. You can either change the jumper from J5 to J4 or get a single 512k game EPROM.

A: The DIP switches at DS1 are not set properly. This diagram shows the DIP settings for Data East.

A: The extra wires are for an optional printer, simply plug in the connector using the key pin for positioning.

This board replaces Williams display part numbers 520-5030-00. They are made from an advanced LED technology that was not available when the original boards were made by Williams. We spent quite a bit of time matching the original color and brightness and are quite happy with the results. Our boards are plug-and-play compatible with the original board set. No special tools or mounting tricks are required and the swap can be done by even the most novice of "installers". Benefits over original Data East displays (and other replacement boards):
